Ansan 1 - 1 Goyang
Another Game, Another Draw

Ansan record their 6th draw in the opening nine matches to confound a frustrating start to the season

The visit of Ansan's old team in Goyang is always a sombre occasion for Ansan fans, and the game seemed to match the occasion in a dire first half.

Chances were few and far between, and some fine defensive work including some key blocks from centre back Bae Seungjin kept Goyang firmly at arms length. Goyang's best chance of the half came after 20 minutes when a prospective shot slid past the right-hand post.

At the other end, Ansan were just as conservative, with the best chance coming when a rare spark of life saw Jo Jaecheol race through the Goyang defence but miss the target with the keeper beaten. A weak volley straight at Goyang keeper, and Ansan legend Kang Jinung was the only other attacking note of the half. Han Deokhee perhaps showed the most fight, wiping out a Goyang player deedlessly in the centre of the park.

Ansan started the second half with much more intent, forcing several corners and putting pressure on the back line. A fine parrying stop was soon forced out of Kang Jinung to keep the scores level.

With the clock ticking down, Goyang suddenly sparked into life and seemingly scored on the 75 minute mark when a thunderous shot struck the bar and appeared to bounce over the line before being collected. Ansan perhaps lucky that the K League does not employ goal-line techonology. Goyang were soon in front just minutes later, when a seemingly poor ball manage to find its way across goal for subsitute Lee Gwangjae to score an easy tap-in.

It did not take long for Ansan to find an equaliser however, when four minutes later, a defensive error allowed Seo Deonghyeon to slide in an easy goal for his fifth of the season.

There was to be no late drama however as Ansan move up to sixth place in the K League Challenge, just a point behind Seoul E-land in the play-off places. However, another edeavourless performence will leave Ansan fans nervous of falling further away from the league chasing pack.
