Ansan continued their positive start to the season by seeing off Soongsil University in the FA Cup 3rd Round.

After a cagey opening, Ansan almost took the lead, striking the bar from a free-kick on the nine minute mark.

Soongsil made some lively if innefective forays into the Ansan, and both sides delivered several bone crunching tackles, which echoed across the deserted Wa Stadium (Attendance: 80). Jo Jae-chol in partcular was right in the thick of it, taking no prisoners with several hard hitting challenges int he centre of the park.

Ansan eventually found a breakthrough, when a neat through ball reached the feet of the trundling lone stiker Seo Dong-hyun, who appeared to treat the ball as if it was a sack of vipers, wrong-footed the onrushing keeper completely and eventually poked the ball into an empty net.

Park Hee-doe should have added a second before half-time when he failed to convert from a spill by the Soongsil keeper.

A subdued second start to the second half saw Soongsil look the brighter side, and they almost got an equaliser when a Soongsil player found himself free in the box but his goalbound shot struck a Soongsil striker who appeared to jump into it.

Ansan responded with a sublime pass from Yoon Joonha, finding Jo Jae-chol in the box who took it down sweetly before lashing it into the net. The celebrations were cut short however by the raised arm of the linesman.

Chances started to come for Ansan to put the game to bed, Park Hee-doe scuffing an awful shot, and Ahn Jaejoon directing a free head over the bar.

Ansan finally doubled their lead when a fine cross from Lee Youngrae was headed home by an uncontested Jo Jae-chol to ensure Ansan passage into the fourth round.
